In 2016, we were approached with a simple logo, a product range and an idea. Recognising the growth in online retail, Boating & Outdoors enlisted us to develop a website to help their dealers begin to grow their online sales and local client base.
We tailored a detailed yet simple to use Ecommerce solution. This incorporated complex custom designed features, allowing B&O to manage and track online sales for a large 1,000+ product range across a network of retailers. The system we created identifies sales, and automatically informs the customer when their purchase can be collected.
One unique feature we were tasked with creating, aimed to amplify the sales potential of individual retailers by tapping into the reach of the collective network. To do this we created a retail management tool which allowed B&O dealers to load their individual boat and outboard stock to their own platform and benefit from having it simultaneously marketed through the central Boating & Outdoors website. This meant boaties could use one site to search New Zealand wide, across multiple dealers and locations, for their next dream boat.
For those dealers who had a limited budget or a simplified web presence, we developed a plugin allowing their pre-existing websites to showcase the latest product inventory, directly from the Boating & Outdoors dealer management tool.
RAZOR Web Design built us a new e-commerce platform from the ground-up which has helped increase sales but also integrate all our 24 stores into one system, meaning each store can benefit from sales we do through the one website.

Our online sales went from $16,000 in December 2017 to just over $50,000 in December 2018 – that’s over a 300% increase! Our sales in January also increased by 500%.
